A man from South Gloucestershire has been charged over the death of a 16-year-old girl in a crash in Wiltshire in 2024.

Richard Robinson, 20, of Birch Road, Kingswood, appeared at Swindon Magistrates Court earlier today (23 June) charged with causing death by dangerous driving.

Toya Jefferies, who was from Royal Wootton Bassett, was a passenger in a car which crashed on an unnamed rural road between Bushton and Hilmarton on the evening of August 29, 2024.

In a tribute released following her death Toya's family said:

""The only way to describe Toya is a little firecracker who touched everyone’s hearts.

"She was loved by everyone she met and she will be deeply missed by her family and friends."

Robinson has been released on bail and will next appear at Swindon Crown Court on July 24.
