Drivers in Warminster are being warned of fines that could leave them hopping mad.

Smallbrook road is currently closed to vehicles overnight between 5pm and 5am to allow toads, frogs and newts to safely migrate across the road to their spawning ponds.

The road is shut between 1st February and 30th April every year by town Council, who work alongside Warminster Toad Patrol.

There are exceptions for people needing access to properties.
