A single mum from Salisbury has shared her reasons for attending a careers fair in Salisbury with us.

Organisations from across the city gathered at the Guildhall yesterday to offer new opportunities to people looking to change or boost their careers.

Employers including Salisbury Reds, The Army, Wiltshire Council and Salisbury Foodbank were in the city centre to speak to potential candidates.

Greatest Hits Radio spoke to Robyn, who told us she's looking to get back into work after three years out.

"I have been going through the job centre cause I'm a single mum so I've been needing to find a job that can actually cater for me being a single mum," she said.

Robyn currently lives with her parents and says their support is invaluable, but she wants provide a platform for herself and her child.

"It's scary going back into work and not having care in the summer holidays and bank holidays, so I'm looking for somewhere that get me secure," she told us.

After admitting she had been worried about attending the careers fair, Robyn revealed to us that it had been a positive experience.

"It's building up my confidence," she said, "I've been out not having to do this for three years, so it's quite scary walking in, but everyone's been really welcoming, so that's nice.

"I feel like it's definitely a confidence builder just walking in."
