A couple who repeatedly burgled shops in Salisbury have been tailed for a total of 32 months between them.
Dean Brown (46) and Jodie Brown (28), both of Cook Court in Bishopdown, were sentenced to 20 months and 12 months imprisonment respectively for numerous theft and shoplifting offences within the Salisbury area.
Wiltshire Police said the convictions came after collaborations with Salisbury BID, local businesses, and Salisbury CCTV.
Neighbourhood Inspector Tina Osborn said: “Dean and Jodie Brown’s offending has caused great stress and financial loss to many businesses in Salisbury.
"They have shown a total disregard of the impact they have had."
Dan Collins, Salisbury BID Operations Manager, said: “This outcome reflects the strength of partnership working in Salisbury and the shared commitment to protecting our local community.
“By working closely with Wiltshire Police, Salisbury City Council, and our businesses, we have been able to coordinate intelligence and report effectively through our city radio network and direct reporting systems."
Keith Jackson, Salisbury City Council’s CCTV Manager, said: “The City Council’s Public Space CCTV continues to play a vital role in supporting police and partner agencies to tackle retail crime across the city.
“Most recently, the CCTV network and operators provided evidential support to Wiltshire Police in relation to prolific shoplifters Dean Brown and Jodie Brown, who were charged with multiple theft offences."
