Wiltshire Police have responded to community concerns following reports of suspicious incidents in Salisbury, where men in cars allegedly approached children.

The reports have understandably caused anxiety, particularly among parents and carers in the area.

Police emphasise they are taking each report seriously, and extensive enquiries are being carried out to establish the facts and identify those involved.

Detective Inspector Eirin Martin urged the public to remain vigilant and allow officers the necessary time to conduct investigations.

Additionally, DI Martin advised caution on social media, stating: "Speculation can cause unnecessary alarm and may hinder ongoing investigations."

Parents are encouraged to use this opportunity to discuss personal safety with their children, ensuring they know how to respond if they ever feel uncomfortable or unsafe.

Wiltshire Police are keen to hear from anyone with information that could support their investigations, including any relevant CCTV, doorbell, or dashcam footage.

For concerns or information, residents should contact police.
