Salisbury Football Club has announced an exciting new addition to it's squad.

20-year-old midfielder Lewis Brown has joined The Whites from Premier League side Bournemouth.

Brown, who can also play as a full-back, was a member of the Cherries Under 21 squad, having been with the Dorset side's academy from the under-7s side.

He's spent time on loan at Wimborne, AFC Totton and Truro City over the last couple of seasons.

After finalising the signing, Whites boss Brian Dutton said, "We're delighted to have Lewis on board. He has shown a real willingness and attitude to go out and prove himself at non-league having already had a loan at Truro last season.

"He's a young energetic midfielder with a bright future we're really excited to have him on board and strengthen our relationship with Bournemouth.

"I am sure supporters will enjoy his all-action displays."

He could make his debut as early at Saturday's (11/1) National League South match with Farnborough.

However, the match at the Ray Mac is likely subject to pitch inspection with temperatures expected to be freezing overnight.

The club said: "Groundsman, Pete Robinson, has been working hard to prepare the pitch at the Ray Mac and has put in place preventative measures in an attempt to beat the cold weather.

"Any information about the pitch inspection will be shared by the club via its website and social media channels as promptly as possible."
