Mike Tindall shows us how to stay safe on Salisbury Plain
The MoD has drafted in the former England Rugby star to offer advice
People enjoying the Easter weekend out on Salisbury Plain are being urged to Respect the Range.
That message comes from former England Rugby player Mike Tindall, who spent a day with training Armed Forces on the military training area.
In a video released on Tindall’s twitter account, Lt. Col Vance Worsley said:
“It’s all about respect for the range. This place can go from tranquil to treacherous at any point.”
Worsley said that he didn’t think people on the Plain considered their proximity to a training exercise, with 5 rifles Warrior Commander Jordan Brown explaining that a dog owner had once followed their off-lead dog onto a live firing range.
The three pieces of advice that feature in the video (which can be found above) are:
- Don’t enter areas that are prohibited
- Stick to the public paths
- Always check live firing times
