A man from Salisbury has denied murdering a baby boy.

Jamie Fulford, of Tournament Road, appeared at Winchester Crown Court today (June 2) where he also pleaded not guilty to causing or allowing the harm or death of a baby.

The 26-year-old only spoke to confirm his name and enter his pleas.

The baby died on 9th September 2022 after being admitted to Salisbury District Hospital on 1st September at four-weeks-old with significant injuries.

Fulford has been remanded into custody ahead of a trial at Winchester Crown Court in January next year (2027).

The baby's mother, 22-year-old Sophie Egerton also appeared in court charged with causing or allowing harm or the death of a child.

She did not enter any pleas and will next appear in court in September.

Police continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the baby's death.
