Hospital nurses recognised for boosting care at Salisbury District Hospital
Sharon Osment and Gail Buchanan won the Patient Experience award
A pair of Wiltshire nurses have been praised for their efforts in improving patient experience at Salisbury District Hospital.
Sharon Osment and Gail Buchanan, who are both Dermatology Clinical Nurse Specialists have picked up the Patient Experience award at this years Salisbury NHS Foundation Trust’s Staff Awards ceremony.
The award recognises hospital staff who have had a significant impact on better care for patients, either for an individual patient in their work department, or for the wider Trust.
The duo were nominted by Lead Dermatology Nurse, Helen Whatsley, after they setup new clinics to reduce patient waiting times, introduced new services to boost patient care and supported both senior and junior staff.
Helen said: ”This nomination recognises an instance where they went above and beyond in their roles, fulfilling the hospital values and helping change a patient's life.
"By recognising the patient’s complex needs, facilitating access to essential resources, coordinating treatment delivery, and offering unwavering support, Sharon and Gail exemplified extraordinary dedication. Their genuine compassion and commitment to patient wellbeing is evident, and made a profound difference in this patient’s ongoing health journey."
