Salisbury's Devizes Road will undergo road closures, beginning on 12 October and is expected to last for 22 weeks. It is as a result of workers replacing old metal gas pipes in the area.

The phased closures follow highways works on the nearby roundabout, aiming to prevent future gas leaks and ensure a reliable supply to the community.

The closures will be phased in an attempt to minimise disruption to the area.

Phases of the work are planned as follows: Phase 1 from junction Gas Lane towards St Paul's Roundabout for four weeks; Phase 2 from junction Gas Lane to Clifton Road for three weeks; Phase 3 from Clifton Road to Ashley Road for three weeks; Phase 4 from Ashley Road to Kingsland Road for three weeks; Phase 5 from Kingsland Road to Highfield Road for five weeks; Phase 6 from Gas Lane Road from Devizes Road to Coldharbour Lane for four weeks.

During this period, pedestrian and cycle access will be maintained, with cyclists advised to dismount in areas where space limits cycling. Vehicle access will remain open on either side of the closures, and affected residents are being informed of their access arrangements.

Bus routes will be impacted, and passengers are advised to check with their service providers for updates.
