First Peregrine egg laid at Salisbury Cathedral
Three or four more are expected to join it
Peregrine Falcons are nesting again at Salisbury Cathedral with the first egg finally being laid.
The species have been regulars at the Spire Tower, successfully raising dozens of chicks over the last decade.
The first egg arrived in the early hours on Thursday, and is believed to be one of the latest times a first egg as been laid.
The hope is that it will be joined by three or four others, which will then start the countdown to hatching, which takes around 32 days once incubation begins.
Last year saw four chicks successfully hatch and fledge.
