Rockbourne Fair marks another record-breaking year in 2025
The Early Christmas event raised nearly £70,000 for the Stars Appeal last October
The Stars Appeal is celebrating another record-breaking year for the Rockbourne Fair, after 2025's event raised £68,191 for Salisbury District Hospital.
The pre-Christmas fair, which takes place in October, offers people three days of shopping at Salisbury Racecourse with more than 100 stalls from across the country offering unique items.
The 2025 total beats the previous record by over £6,000, which was set in 2024.
Bev Moulding, Chair of the Rockbourne Fair Committee, said: “The Rockbourne Fair team and I are absolutely delighted and incredibly proud to have raised such an amazing, record-breaking amount once again. The generosity shown by our community has been truly heart-warming, and every penny raised will help support Salisbury District Hospital and the local people it cares for."
During a presentation of the amount raised, the Rockbourne Fair committee visited the Stars Appeal Breast Unit, where they learned about the charity's work maintaining and enhancing the equipment, as well as funding scheme to support people's stay in hospital more comfortable, including the Stars Appeal aromatherapist, free hot and cold drinks, and snacks during chemotherapy treatment.
Mr Graham Branagan, Consultant Surgeon and Chair of the Clinical Ambassadors thanked the team for their efforts, calling their achievement "outstanding".
"The work of the Stars Appeal is only possible thanks to the generosity of our local community, and this wonderful event is a shining example of that support in action. The funds raised will help us continue making a real difference to the lives of thousands of patients, their families, and the dedicated staff who care for them at Salisbury Hospital. Thank you to everyone who supported the fair and helped make it another record-breaking year," he said.
Stars Appeal funding also supports projects across the hospital, including new state-of-the-art equipment, building enhancements and Wi-Fi for patients, staff and visitors.
This year's Rockbourne Fair will take place between 14th and 16th October.
