Police officer injured after being hit in leg by suspected catapult on Salisbury plain

Wiltshire Police say an officer was injured after being hit in the leg by a suspected catapult in an incident on Salisbury Plain.
The incident happened at Z crossing, Everleigh, on Salisbury Plain on the night of 17th January.
At around 9.30pm, the officer witnessed motorbikes being ridden without lights or number plates and attempted to stop the vehicles.
When the motorcycles failed to stop, the officer left his vehicle to retrieve a thermal scope from the rear of the vehicle.
The officer saw a bike in the woods to the left.
At which point, something has hit his left leg with quite some force, causing bruising.
The motorbike then left scene without lights.
Police are asking anyone who saw anything suspicious in the area or has information that could help with enquiries to contact them.
