New Salisbury owner wants club to grow 'on and off the pitch'
Ali Alhamad is now in charge of the South Wiltshire club
There's a new man at the helm of Salisbury Football Club, with Kuwaiti businessman Ali Alhamad now in charge of running the club.
The previous board of directors had concluded they had reached the limit of what they could achieve with the club, which is preparing for its second season in the National League South.
The board explored multiple options to secure investment, including using respected third-parties to introduce potential investors to the club.
One of those third-parties, Blackbridge Sports founder, Alexander Jarvis, introduced them to Mr Alhamad, who has made his fortune through manufacturing, real estate, blockchain technology and cryptocurrency.
After several meetings, in which the Kuwati entrepreneur impressed the board with his knowledge of the English game, the National League South and of Salisbury Football Club, a deal was agreed on 17th June.
Mr Alhamad said he sees a lot of potential in the club, insisting he wants to grow the club on and off the field.
He said: "I'm honoured to take this important step with Salisbury FC and join a club with such a proud history and loyal fan base. From my very first visit, I felt a deep connection with the city, the people, and the potential that lies ahead.
"I come into this role not just as an investor, but as someone who truly wants to contribute to the club's growth on and off the field.
"I believe in building a sustainable football culture that invests in youth, strengthens our ties with the local community, and creates a winning environment with strong values at its core.
"This is just the beginning. I look forward to working closely with everyone at the club and supporting our journey together, every step of the way."
