Moonrakers' Educafe set to launch as community hub in Chippenham
Inclusive space designed to connect and empower residents
Moonrakers' Educafe, a new community hub initiative supported by Chippenham Borough Lands Charity, is set to offer an inclusive and welcoming space for Chippenham residents of all ages and backgrounds.
Designed within a relaxed café environment at the Wiltshire and Swindon History Centre, visitors will enjoy refreshments while participating in various activities centred around inclusion, empowerment, and sustainability.
Activities planned include a creator's corner for skill sharing and 'Migration Stories,' an oral history project capturing lived experiences from the community.
Cllr Mel Jacob, Deputy Leader of Wiltshire Council and Cabinet Member for Communities, Engagement and Corporate Services, praised the Educafe initiative.
She said: "The Educafe is a wonderful opportunity for residents to come together, share stories, and reconnect with the heritage that shapes our community."
She emphasised the importance of exploring local history in creative and meaningful ways to strengthen community bonds.
The initiative is also supported by Educafe Newbury.
Founders Clare and Janine expressed their excitement, saying: "We are delighted to be working with the Wiltshire and Swindon History Centre to help launch a community hub with heritage at its heart."
Moonrakers' Educafe will launch on Monday 27th April 2026 and operate fortnightly from 10:30am to 2pm at the Wiltshire and Swindon History Centre.
