People in south Wiltshire are being given a chance to find help with their finances from multiple organisations at a special event on Monday.

The event comes on the third Monday in January, sometimes referred to as "Blue Monday".

The Money and Pensions Service has teamed up with Salisbury MP, John Glen, to host a Financial Wellbeing event, with businesses and organisations from across the county attending to provide their expertise.

Mr Glen says the start to the new year can be tough for people.

"January can be a really challenging time financially for many people as the pre-Christmas spending hits the doormat and energy bills are at their highest," he said.

Local organisations such as Alabaré, Salisbury Foodbank and Silver Salisbury will be attending, as well as Citizen's Advice Wiltshire, Carer Support Wiltshire and Acorn Community Bank, among others.

The event will be open to the public, and free to attend, on Monday 19th January at Salisbury Guildhall, between 11.30am and 2.30pm.

Mr Glen said it's a "great opportunity" to get some helpful guidance and support.
