Woman in 40s seriously hurt in Melksham car crash

She's being treated in hospital for potentially life-changing injuries

A woman in her 40s is receiving hospital treatment for potentially life-changing injuries after a car crash in Melksham.

It happened on Bath Road on Monday afternoon and involved a red Vauxhall Astra and a red Nissan Micra.

It's believed that the Micra was waiting to turn right onto Bowerhill Lane when the Vauxhall collided with it.

The driver of the Nissan, a woman in her 40s, has been taken to hospital for treatment, while the Vauxhall driver, a man in his 30s, was unhurt.

The road had been closed for enquiries to be made and has since reopened.

Wiltshire Police are appealing for witnesses and anyone with dashcam footage of the incident.
