Man taken to hospital with "serious injuries" following disorder in Trowbridge
Police said a number of people have been arrested in connection with the incident
A man has been taken to hospital following a disorder in Trowbridge yesterday evening (October 1).
Wiltshire Police said they received a report at around 7.25pm yesterday that a disorder had taken place in Bramley Lane between a group of people known to one another.
During the disorder a man in his 30s suffered serious injuries.
He was taken to hospital to be treated for his injuries, which are not thought to be life-changing.
Police said they have set up a scene and arrested a number of people on suspicion of grievous bodily harm in connection with the incident.
They added that the investigation is being led by CID.
DI Tom Straker said: “We appreciate the concern this incident may cause, however please be assured that this has taken place between people who know each other and there was no wider threat to the public.
“A man has been taken to hospital to be treated for his injuries and we have arrested a number of men in order to establish the circumstances behind the assault.
“A scene has been set up to allow for an investigation to be carried out and there will likely be an increased policing presence in the area.
