Man seriously injured after suspected assault outside Chippenham pub

A 19-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of GBH with intent and released on bail

An investigation has been launched after a man was seriously injured in a suspected assault outside a pub in Chippenham.

It happened between midnight and 1am on Saturday 9 May outside the Black Horse pub on New Road.

Wiltshire Police say a 19-year-old man sustained significant facial injuries which are being treated as serious.

Another 19-year-old man was arrested later that morning on suspicion of GBH with intent and has been released on conditional bail pending further enquiries.

Officers would like to hear from anyone who witnessed the incident and may have information which could help their investigation.
