Man in his 80s dies after Frome Road collision in Trowbridge
A medical episode prior to the crash is suspected
A man in his 80s has died after a collision involving two cars on Frome Road in Trowbridge this morning.
Emergency services attended the scene at around 9.10am following a report of a collision between a Volkswagen Polo and a Peugeot 208.
Despite their efforts, the driver of the Polo was declared deceased at the scene.
Authorities suspect the man experienced a medical episode prior to the crash, which may have contributed to the incident.
His next of kin have been informed.
A woman in her 70s, who was a passenger in the Polo, has sustained potentially serious injuries and is receiving treatment in hospital.
The driver of the Peugeot reportedly suffered minor injuries.
No arrests have been made in connection with the collision.
The road was temporarily closed to allow for vehicle recovery and further enquiries but has since reopened.
