Man appears in court charged with murder after road collision

A man has appeared in court charged with murder, after a road collision near Royal Wootton Bassett.

Anthony Howells, 43, of Reids Piece, Purton, appeared at Swindon Magistrates Court this morning (6/7) charged with the murder of a woman in her 70s, from Royal Wootton Bassett, after a collision on the B4696 last Tuesday.

He was also charged with dangerous driving, driving with no insurance, failing to stop at an RTC and failing to provide.

No plea was entered in court today and he was remanded in custody once again until his next appearance on Wednesday (8/7) at Bristol Crown Court.
