A man, who assaulted his partner after an argument, has been found guilty, after a trial.
Nicholas Moore, 52, of St Catherines, Wimborne Minster, Dorset, was convicted of actual bodily harm at Salisbury Magistrates’ Court on 3rd September.
He has been bailed to appear for sentencing on 13th November.
On 29th November last year, police were called to a report of a domestic assault, at a property in Berwick St John.
Officers attended the scene and Moore was arrested. The victim didn’t suffer any serious injuries.
It was established that Moore had assaulted the victim after being asked to leave the property and refusing.
He had also taken control of her phone, denying her access to it.
He was subsequently charged and convicted.
PC Layton, based at Melksham CID, said: "Moore’s behaviour was absolutely shocking and I want to commend the victim, for the immense bravery and resilience that she has shown throughout this case.
“Her courage in coming forward and detailing the assault that happened means that Moore has been convicted and will face consequences for his actions.
“Tackling violence against women and girls is a force priority and we will continue to prosecute those who commit these offences.”
