Man arrested after £8,000 Rolex watch stolen from Salisbury jewellers

A man has been arrested after police received a report of a theft from a jewellers in Salisbury today (September 22).

Wiltshire Police received a report at 3.57pm that a man had stolen an £8,000 Rolex watch from a jewellers in Salisbury city centre.

A description of the man was then passed to local officers and CCTV operators in the city.

Wiltshire Police said 40 minutes later a man was found and arrested on suspicion of theft.

He remains in police custody at this time.

Insp Russell Griffin said: “We are focused on tackling the most prolific shoplifters as we know the fear they cause retail workers and the negative impact their offending has on communities.

"This positive and swift arrest was a result of excellent team work by Salisbury police teams and our CCTV colleagues."
