Man accused of murdering baby in Salisbury remanded in custody

A man has been remanded into custody after appearing court accused of the murder a baby in Salisbury.

Jamie Fulford, 26, of Tournament Road, appeared at Salisbury Magistrates Court today (8th May) charged with murder and causing or allowing harm/death of a child.

Wiltshire Police said on September 1 2022 a four week old baby boy was admitted to Salisbury District Hospital with serious injuries.

The baby passed away on 9th September 2022.

Fulford has been remanded in custody and is scheduled to appear at Winchester Crown Court on 12th May.

The baby's mother, Sophie Egerton, 22, also of Tournament Road, has been charged with causing or allowing harm/death of a child.

She also appeared in court today (8th May) and has been released on unconditional bail.

Egerton is expected to appear at Winchester Crown Court on 5th June.
