A Ludgershall man's been jailed for nearly five years, for the stabbing and racial abuse of his ex-partner's new boyfriend.

3\1 year old Kieran Hutchinson from Abbatt Close has been sentenced at Winchester Crown Court after admitting GBH with intent, possessing a bladed article in public and criminal damage.

Hutchinson went to a house in Taylor Crescent in Ludgershall in August last year, and threw a paving slab though the front door.

He then assaulted a man in his 40s - the boyfriend of Hutchinson's former partner.

Multiple knives were swung at the victim, injuring his arm and hand, requiring hospital treatment.

Hutchinson was arrested a few days after the incident, following a wanted appeal locally.

He's now been handed a four year and ten month prison term and an extended licence of four years.

DS Toni Nugent of South CID said:

“Hutchinson went to his ex-partner’s property with the intention of causing serious harm to her partner.

“Following an initial altercation outside the house, he then went inside to find weapons to use against him.

“Hutchinson’s actions were completely unacceptable, and it is fortunate that the victim’s injuries were not significantly worse.

“We take all knife crime incredibly seriously and we will ensure that anybody who perpetrates a crime involving a weapon is arrested and put before the courts.”
