Visitors to Longleat Safari Park are being treated to a remarkable scene as African lions roam through a striking display of bluebells this spring.

The lions, including Simba and Klaus, are part of the pride residing in Lion Country, which is part of Longleat’s famous Drive-Through Safari.

The bluebells have flourished in the springtime, transforming the lions’ territory into an extraordinary British safari setting.

Darren Beasley, Head of Animal Operations at Longleat, said: “There’s nothing quite like seeing lions wandering through bluebells in the Wiltshire countryside — it’s one of our favourite times of year and a truly unique experience. You simply won’t see this anywhere else.”

“The moment beautifully captures the blend of native wildlife and the animals at the heart of Longleat. It reflects our core commitment to conservation — not only protecting the species in our care but also preserving the historic estate and landscape that has been central to our success for the past 60 years.”

Longleat’s Drive-Through Safari celebrates its 60th anniversary in 2026, with events planned throughout the year.
