Knees: Trowbridge homeware firm to close after nearly 150 years

A homeware business that's been in Trowbridge for nearly 150 years is to close.

Knees Home and Electrical says it's not a decision they've taken lightly - and have thanked customers for their support.

The engineering arm of the business will continue.

In a post on Facebook, the Board said: "It is with deep regret that we have to announce the decision to begin winding down the business operations of Knees Home & Electrical and close our retail showroom & website.

"We would like to thank all our customers over the last 146 years for their support and would like them to know that the decision has not been taken lightly.

"H J Knee Ltd will continue to trade operating an Engineering Business based in Trowbridge along with a property portfolio."
