Investigation launched after cat shot twice with BB gun or air rifle
Dougal has been left with a bullet lodged near his spine
An investigation is underway after an 11-month old cat was shot twice with an air rifle or BB gun in Stapleford near Salisbury.
Dougal, a half-Maine Coon, has been left with a bullet stuck near his spine which his vet is unable to remove.
Police say the appalling offence happened between 24th and 26th July.
A spokesperson for Wiltshire Police said: "This is an awful offence against a defenceless animal and we are really keen to identify those responsible.
"Officers have been conducting local enquiries and are keen to hear from anyone who may be able to assist us with the investigation."
