Hundreds impacted in unplanned power cut near Swindon
Nearly 500 people are reported to have had their electricity cut off in an unplanned outage in Royal Wootton Bassett
Hundreds of people are reported to have been impacted by an unplanned power cut this morning (11/11).
SSEN say there are 42 affected postcodes, with an estimated 466 customers hit when it happened, at around 07:30.
Bosses say engineers are aware, and are hoping to get things up and running again by 1pm.
They said: "We're sorry for the power cut in the area.
"The power cut is affecting 466 properties in the area shown on the map.
"We are working with our engineers to fix the problem as quickly as possible, and will keep you updated.
"When they get there, they'll work hard to fix the problem as quickly as possible. At this stage, we're aiming to have your power back by 13:00.
"The cause of this power cut is a fault on our underground network. This is the most common type of fault we see, and our teams are very experienced with dealing with these issues."
