Group of men arrested after alleged hare coursing in Avebury

Three men have been detained by police

Three men have been arrested in Wiltshire on suspicion of trespass with intent to search or pursue a hare and failing to stop for police.

It follows an alleged hare coursing incident near Avebury.

The trio have been detained by police and their vehicle seized.

We're told to call police if we believe hare coursing is taking place.

We should phone 999 if a crime is in progress, or report suspicious activity via 101, the Wiltshire Police website, or anonymously via Crimestoppers.

Signs to look out for include; lurcher or saluki dogs on slip leads in open fields, 4x4 vehicles driving over crops or driving off-road illegally, and groups of people using binoculars or lamps in open fields.
