A closure order has been granted at Swindon Magistrates Court today for an address in Devizes to stop further criminal activity.

The order covers the property at Eastbourne House in Bridewell Street. Under the order, no-one, other than the occupants, emergency services or housing association staff, can enter the address.

PC Crabbe said, “Closure orders are a great tool utilised by local officers to help combat ASB issues within a property, providing officers with a power of entry and power of arrest."

"Hopefully this will provide some reassurance to local residents who will no doubt have been affected by the ongoing issues in some way."

"Modern policing involves more than just a visible presence, it's about forming relationships, earning trust, and proactively working with communities to prevent crime. It's about being proactive and building long-term solutions to local issues."

“We will continue to patrol the area and ensure the order is being adhered to over the next few months at all different times of the day and night, and would urge anyone with concerns to call 101.”
