Fire on A303 in West Cholderton causes road closure

A pick-up truck fire leads to fuel spillage and road closure

A fire involving a pick-up truck led to a road closure on the A303 at West Cholderton this morning.

Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service were called to the scene at 8.37am, according to their reports.

Two crews from Amesbury and Andover responded, using breathing apparatus and hose reel jets to extinguish the fire.

The crews stopped their operations at 10.14am and left the area.

The fire resulted in a fuel spillage, causing the road to be closed to traffic.
