Fire service tackle field fire in Southwick
Crews from Wiltshire, Somerset and Hampshire have been called to deal with the blaze.
Fire crews are currently extinguishing a fire in a field off Fairfield Meadows, Southwick. They were originally called to reports of a fire at 2.48pm this afternoon.
The blazeis currently covering an area of approximately 3kms x 1km.
Crews on from Bradford on Avon, Warminster, Frome, Chippenham, Calne and Melksham, are tackling the fire. There is also an incident command vehicle from Pewsey present, along with a water carrier from Andover and small 4x4 appliances from Castle Cary and Cheddar.
Hose reel jets, main jets and beaters are being used by crews to tackle the fire. The fire service is reporting that it has spread towards Hogginton Lane.
