Test Valley Borough Council improving carbon footprint
Test Valley is getting greener
Three new electrically powered pedestrian sweepers will soon be on the streets of Test Valley as the borough council seeks to reduce its carbon footprint.
The current diesel-powered fleet will be replaced by the new better-performing machines.
Quieter and more powerful, the new machines will be in action across the Test Valley borough, and Cllr Nick Adams-King called the arrival of the new machines “excellent”.
Mr Adams-King added: “It’s also important that we are not disrupting town centres, so these improved performance machines will not only make the job quieter but do their job to an even higher standard.
“Any action we take that makes us closer to becoming carbon neutral is a positive step forward in the right direction.”
Members of the public should see the new sweepers out and about in the coming weeks.
