Disruption to train travel from Salisbury over Easter
Make sure you check before you travel
Train travel from Salisbury and Grateley over the Easter weekend is being disrupted by major engineering works being carried out by South Western Railway (SWR).
The line from Andover to Woking is closed, while the route connecting Salisbury to London Waterloo is also affected.
There is a rail replacement bus service between Andover and Woking, but customers are urged to check before travelling and afford more time for their journey.
SWR’s Customer & Commercial Director Peter Williams said:
“Closing the railway when many people are planning leisure trips is of course frustrating, but the Easter bank holidays are typically a quieter time on our network and we need to make sure engineering works impact as few customers as possible.
“Where works are taking place, rail replacement buses will be running to keep people moving and the vast majority of our network will be unaffected. I’d like to thank customers for their patience and understanding whilst these essential works are carried out.”
