Two arrested in Chippenham on suspected drug supply offences
A man and woman have been released on bail
Two people have been arrested in Wiltshire on suspicion of supplying Class A drugs.
An 18-year-old man and a 20-year-old woman were stopped in Chippenham on Friday (14/02) after a call from the public raising concerns of suspected drug dealing.
Enquiries by the county Local Policing Tasking Team (LPTT), identified the vehicle involved - a black Ford Fiesta - and it was stopped in London Road.
Officers searched the vehicle, finding a substantial quantity of white powder, suspected to be a class A drug, a quantity of cash, weighing scales and mobile phones.
Further searches of the pair's home address located more drugs and paraphernalia.
The driver, the teenage man, also failed a roadside drugs wipe test, which came back positive for cannabis and cocaine.
The suspected were arrested and taken into custody. They've been bailed while police investigations continue.
PC Hughes from the county LPTT said: “Reports and intelligence submissions from the public are crucial.
“We encourage everyone to report suspicious activity of any scale so we can continue to provide an effective response.”
