Driver arrested following pursuit on A350 between Chippenham and Melksham

The vehicle failed to stop and was tracked through Lacock and Beanacre

Wiltshire Police have arrested a man on suspicion of driving offences following a pursuit on the A350 yesterday evening (17 November).

At around 9.15pm, officers attempted to stop a white BMW M2 after it was seen speeding and driving dangerously.

The vehicle failed to stop and was tracked through Lacock and Beanacre before being lost from sight.

The BMW was later located in a layby near St Barnabas Church in Beanacre.

Officers from the Dogs Unit, Response teams, and Roads Policing, assisted by the National Police Air Service, conducted a search in the area.

A 25-year-old man, found nearby, was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving and failing to stop for police.

He has since been released under investigation while enquiries continue.
