Cyclist seriously injured after hit-and-run near Highworth

Police appeal for witnesses following B4508 collision

Police are appealing for witnesses after a cyclist was seriously injured in a collision near Highworth this morning, Saturday 6th December 2025.

The incident occurred at approximately 9.35am on the B4508 between Watchfield and Highworth.

A man in his 50s was knocked off his bicycle and sustained fractures to his neck and back. While his condition is not believed to be life-threatening, he is being treated for potentially life-changing injuries.

The car involved in the collision is believed to have left the scene without stopping.

Officers are asking anyone who may have been in the area at the time, or who has dashcam footage of the incident, to come forward.

They are particularly keen to trace the driver of a white vehicle, believed to be a Toyota Aygo, which was seen nearby and may hold information useful to the investigation.
