Police are investigating a break-in at a Co-Op store in Corsham after an elephant shaped garden ornament was used to gain entry.

It happened around 4.25am on Tuesday morning (18/11) when a white Audi arrived in the car park outside the Martingate store, with two people getting out of the vehicle.

The pair used the ornament to smash a hole in a window and enter the store, before searching the till area and making off with cigarettes.

It's believed they left at approximately 4.32am, heading in the direction of Bath Road.

Detectives say their enquiries are ongoing but are keen to hear from anyone who believes the ornament (pictured above) is from their garden.

Officers would also like to speak to anyone who has information about the burglary.
