Closure orders granted at Chippenham addresses to protect vulnerable occupants
Police were concerned the occupants at both addresses were being exploited
Two closure orders have been granted to protect vulnerable people in Chippenham.
Yesterday, (15 October) officers obtained closure orders for addresses in Loyalty Street and Little Englands.
Police were concerned the occupants at both addresses were being exploited.
The orders will remain in place at both addresses for the next three-months.
They prevent anyone from entering the properties other than the named occupants, emergency services or housing association representatives.
PC Jess Swanborough said: “Both occupants at the addresses are vulnerable individuals. In order to protect and safeguard them and prevent any criminality at the addresses, we have worked closely with the local housing association to successfully apply for these orders.
"We will continue to patrol and regularly visit the addresses over the next three months to check on the welfare of the occupants and to ensure the orders are being adhered to.
“Anyone found entering the properties during this time will be committing an offence and may be arrested.
“We are aware that the activity at these addresses may have been impacting on local residents and we would like to put on record our thanks to neighbours who have assisted us in our enquiries.”
