Changes are on the way for the Chalke History Festival for the 2025 event, including a new ticketing system aimed at making it easier for visitors.

Next year's week of activities and talks are planned for 23rd to 29th June at Broadchalke.

Festival Director James Holland's written an open letter to guests, saying 'furious plotting and planning is underway' to 'bring a more exciting, relevant and varied programme than ever before'.

The next Festival will see the tents for dedicated talks expanded to fit in more people.

That also comes as the tickets for 2025 changing, so entrance tickets include all and any talks, without the need to book additional slots.

Visitors can buy one, three or seven day tickets for access to the activities on the festival site - with entry for under 16s being made free throughout as well.

There'll be more spaces at each of the talks at Chalke in 2025, as all entry tickets allow access to every event next year

The popular schools programme will return too, on the 23rd and 24th June.

Festival Director James Holland said:

"We are really thrilled to offer a more rounded line-up of events for each day, with a wide choice of talks and discussions, historical performances, inter-active living history demonstrations and displays provided by the very best historical interpreters around.

"Each day the festival will provide a wonderful opportunity to try your hand at various historical activities, meet and chat to our array of historians, presenters and contributors and enjoy our after-dark entertainment, featuring live music, story-telling and more. There will also be, of course, a large array of food, drink and stalls, as well as expanded camping facilities.

"We want you all to have a brilliant, exciting, intellectually stimulating and visually thrilling time every day you come to Chalke."
