95% of Wiltshire students preparing for secondary school in September have been offered a place at their first-choice school.

Families across the county have been finding out which school their child will go to today (3/3), with 99% offered a place at one of their preferred choices.

Over 5,000 applications were received, with Wiltshire Council recording an increase of 54 on 2024.

Most parents made online applications and have been sent an email confirmed the school place offer for their child, if they've chosen to receive their offer via email.

If parents have selected to receive their decision via the Parent Portal, they will need to log back into the Parent Portal to view the outcome.

All parents and carers have until 17 March 2025, to confirm they wish to accept or decline the place they have been offered.

5\6 parents made paper applications and they will be receiving a letter with the decision, which will be posted on 3rd March 2025.

Cllr Laura Mayes, Cabinet Member for Education and Skills said "Choosing the right secondary school for your child is an important milestone, and I'm delighted that so many families have received positive news about their preferred choices once again. These strong numbers are the result of careful planning and strategic work by our team to ensure there are enough school places for this September and the years to come.

"I wish all pupils and their families the very best as they prepare for this exciting transition from primary to secondary school."
