15-year-old boy charged with murder of teenager in Chippenham

Police are continuing to appeal for information

A 15-year-old boy has been charged with murder after the death of a 16-year-old in Chippenham.

Shayne Hambakachere, a pupil at Hardenhuish School, died after being found seriously injured shortly before 4pm in London Road on Saturday (31/01).

A 15-year-old boy was arrested shortly afterwards on suspicion of grievous bodily harm with intent.

He was later re-arrested on suspicion of murder and has today (03/02) been charged with that offence.

The teenager, who cannot be named due to his age, remains in custody and is due to appear before Swindon Magistrates tomorrow (04/02).

Wiltshire Police have offered their condolences to Shayne's family and friends and thanked the community in Chippenham for their ongoing support.
