The Plymouth's Sisters Talk Foundation says it's now looking to expand - to help empower more women across the West Country.

The city-based mentoring scheme was founded by Doctor Joanitha Ntangeki who says her 'unlock and unleash your potential' is 'connecting with women who are trying to become with women who have become already'.

She said: "So we have women who have walked the walk, they share their stories and practical tools of becoming in different areas of life - whether that's business or education or any professional area."

She says they also encourage women in leadership roles in the city to share their experience and practical tools – and reveal how they were able to overcome challenges.

"We receive quite a lot of messages from people we've helped who are dreaming again, " she said.

"People say they are able to work or go back to university, people opening businesses and people finding their life back because women go through a lot and some after giving birth they feel like their dreams are shattered and all that.

"When they enter a room and see a woman who has gone through things or who has tried to balance things out they get that hope of becoming."
