With eight games to go, Plymouth Argyle's head coach Tom Cleverely says they're looking to reach a play-off place later as they host fellow promotion-chasing Huddersfield at Home Park.

This week at the Academy awards ceremony, 17-year-old Argyle Academy star Seb Campbell, put pen to paper on a first deal with his boyhood club.

Campbell recently made his professional league debut for Tom Cleverley’s side after coming on as an 85th minute substitute away at Wigan Athletic.

He also became Argyle’s youngest-ever goalscorer at the age of 16 years and 279 days after he scored on his debut against Spurs Under-21s in the Vertu Trophy.

Head Coach Cleverley is delighted to see one of the shining lights of Jamie Lowry’s U18s sign a professional contract and commented: “Seb has impressed us all throughout the season, in training, in Under-18s matches and when he has appeared for the first-team.

“He is technically very good, has a great attitude, and a willingness to learn and improve. As an added bonus, he is from the area and an Argyle fan so has a genuine affinity with the football club.

“As a coach who played in central midfield myself, I am really looking forward to helping him grow and develop. He has been a part of the first-team squad this season on merit, and I am sure will continue to be so over the coming years.”

Argyle Director of Football, Derek Adams, added: “We are all really pleased to see Seb sign his first professional contract.

“This moment is a testament to his hard work but also the hard work of everyone involved in his development.

“He has excellent attributes but also lots of room for improvement and it is over to him and the coaching staff now to help him do that and become an integral part of Argyle’s future.”
