A Plymouth man has been sentenced to two years and eight months in jail for his involvement in drug supply and possession of offensive weapons.

Ryan Board, a 30-year-old resident of Rochford Crescent, appeared at Plymouth Crown Court on 12th June following his guilty plea to six offences back in February.

The case was investigated by the South West Regional Organised Crime Unit (SWROCU), with support from Devon and Cornwall Police.

During the operation, authorities executed a warrant at Board's residence, seizing over 530 grams of cocaine, 3.8 kilos of ketamine, 245 grams of cannabis, and £34,660 in cash.

Board was sentenced for multiple offences, including possession with intent to supply cocaine, ketamine, and cannabis, possessing criminal proceeds, and possession of offensive weapons including a knuckleduster and telescopic truncheon.

Weapons and Drugs Seized

According to the South West's Regional Organised Crime Unit (SWROCU), the drugs had a street value exceeding £60,000.

Detective Inspector Pete Walker from SWROCU remarked on the gravity of the offences, stating the substantial drug seizure and cash demonstrated Board's significant involvement in serious criminal activity.

Walker highlighted the added threat posed by the weapons found during the operation.

"The seizure of drugs with a potential street value of in excess of £60,000 along with thousands of pounds in cash, demonstrates that Board was heavily involved in serious criminality which causes real harm to our communities," DI Pete Walker said.

"In addition, we recovered two weapons which show the very real threat criminals involved in drug supply can pose."

Community Involvement in Crime Prevention

Local police urge the public to report any criminal activity in their areas.

Reports can be made directly to local police forces or anonymously via the independent charity Crimestoppers at 0800 111 555 or through their website.
