Six fire crews battle hay bale blaze at farm near Stadhampton
People living nearby are being told to keep windows and doors shut as smoke lingers
Firefighters have spent the night tackling a fire at a farm building near Stadhampton.
Six crews were called to the scene off the B480 at 7.01pm yesterday.
Hay bales inside a farm building had caught alight.
When they arrived, firefighters worked alongside staff on site to create a fire break.
The aim was to protect the surrounding hay bales and stop the flames from spreading further.
Crews then worked through the night to maintain that break and prevent the fire reaching nearby buildings.
The fire has produced large amounts of smoke.
People in the area are being advised to keep their windows and doors closed.
Fire crews are likely to remain at the scene throughout the day.
