A serving Thames Valley Police officer has been charged, with a number of criminal offences.

Detective Sergeant Karl Ralph, 48, has been charged with one count of engaging in controlling and coercive behaviour and two counts of intentional strangulation.

He will appear at Luton Magistrates Court on Thursday 27 August.

The officer is currently suspended from duty.
