Sentencing will take place in April after stabbing at Oxford's Manzil Way
If follows conviction at the city's Crown Court
A man has been convicted following the stabbing in Oxford last March.
Hassan Hussain, aged 25, of Nye Bevan Close, Oxford was convicted on Friday (February 7th) of one count of grievous bodily harm with intent by a unanimous jury verdict.
He had previously pleaded guilty to one count of possessing a knife in a hearing at the same court.
Hussain was found not guilty of a count each of attempted murder and possession of a firearm.
Shahroz Khan, of Mortimer Road, Oxford and Bilal Khan, of Abingdon Road, Oxford, both 25-years-old, were found not guilty of one count each of conspiracy of murder and conspiracy to cause grievous bodily harm by a unanimous jury verdict.
It was on March 13th last year, when the victim, a 42-year-old man, was stabbed multiple times.
He went into the mosque to seek help and received immediate first aid before an ambulance was called.
The victim suffered significant injuries to his abdomen, forearm and left hand and was taken to hospital for treatment.
Officers launched an investigation into the incident and Hussain was arrested the following day and charged.
Lead investigating officer, Detective Chief Inspector Krista Thompson, said:
“This was an appalling attack on the victim; Hussain inflicted an extreme level of violence, leaving the victim with serious injuries.
“This case demonstrates that Thames Valley Police will not tolerate serious violence and that we will use all available resources to pursue, arrest and prosecute those involved in criminality.
“We continue to take a robust approach to those carrying weapons in the area, with officers targeting those who think it is acceptable to carry knives.
“If you use or carry weapons, expect to be stopped, searched, arrested, charged and in some cases, face the prospect of being sent to prison immediately on remand.
“The community plays a vital role in this proactive approach. Your support is required to help us prevent violent crime. We need information about those carrying knives in the town.
