A number of schools have been forced to close today (6 March) as water supply issues continue in Oxfordshire.

A large number of homes and schools have been left without water or with low pressure due to a burst water main in Eynsham which was first identified on Wednesday (4 March).

Thames Water have confirmed the leak has been repaired but it might take some time for reservoirs and pipes to refill.

The following schools have been confirmed as closed today by Oxford County Council:

  • Carterton Community College
  • Gateway Primary School

-St Kenelm's Church of England (VC) School

However a statement on social media from local MP Charlie Maynard claims there are even more schools closed today due to water supply issues.

Bottled water stations have re-opened this morning to support those affected:

  • Morrisons, Black Bourton Road, Carterton, OX18 3HA
  • Sainsbury’s, Witan Way, Witney, OX28 4FF
